I began tutoring 15 years ago. Since then, I've worked successfully with a wide variety of students and families around the Bay Area and beyond. I've helped students improve their grades, raise their test scores, and earn admission into best-fit colleges and universities.
My wide-ranging experience includes two years of classroom teaching. In 2021-22, I taught Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry at Sacred Heart Cathedral in place of a teacher who was unable to continue, and I taught AP Psychology under similar circumstances at SHC in 2015-16. These experiences have enriched and informed how I work with my private clients while also reminding me how challenging classroom teaching can be. Among other things, they've left me grateful for the ability to work with students in one-on-one, individualized settings.

I've now worked with many hundreds of students, but I began my tutoring career in the early 2000's by training with three respected agencies and one of the country's top accelerated learning programs. I'm a longtime member and current President of the Bay Area Tutoring Summit (BATS), which provides ongoing professional development and peer review opportunities for private educators.
My education includes a B.A. with Honors in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma, where I competed on the nationally ranked golf team. While at Oklahoma, I was honored as the university's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and an Academic All-American. I also spent one year in a Counseling Psychology graduate program at Columbia University. Prior to Oklahoma, I graduated from La Jolla High School in San Diego with a 4.4 GPA and was honored as a National Merit Scholar. |
Outside of work, I continue to play golf at a high competitive level. Over the past few years, I've been one of the most successful amateur golfers in California, winning 6 Northern California Golf Association championships and qualifying for several USGA national championships.
When I'm not working, competing, or practicing, I'm usually either cooking or spending quality time with my two adorable cats, Marge and Linda.
